When it comes to education, what is the objective? Isn't it student learning? Why do students hate coming to school? As an educator, I want to change the paradigm of school. Education can no longer be a "necessary evil" or drudge-like experience we make our kids go through just because we did or our parents did. School needs to be a real place of learning... or they will learn somewhere else. I recently finished Most Likely to Succeed by Tony Wagner and Ted Dintersmith. It has transformed my teaching and educational philosophy. We are teaching for a new generation! Wake up! We need to change education, not reform it. We need a revolution not a reformation. Check out the trailer of the documentary of the same name as the book. Best read ever.
